Rootless (Opus 20) & Desolate (Opus 21)

I wrote these two opuses as a pair: one is about the archetype of the modern man, while the other is about the archetype of the modern woman. In a world full of sin and a society infested with cultural rot, both archetypes have become devoid of the Lord Jesus Christ and are now entrenched in their sins because of their unwise decisions.

I did my best to convey these ideas throughout both pieces. For example the main theme from Rootless is quoted in Desolate, while the exact same movement of the bass at the beginning of Rootless is used when the cello enters in Desolate.
